Sculpting
Throughout my years of struggle, experimenting with the construction of my figure sculptures has been my main artistic passion. Finally, I am pleased to say that I discovered and conquered my internal artistic path to create my type of sculptures.
My personal artistic method is fusing ceramics techniques with sculpture techniques. I sculpt with the construction of coils as a support for the weight of the sculptures and later attach in a rhythmic way slabs over the figure. I have the tendency to create life and large size sculptures.
I always felt captivated by the plasticity of clay, respecting the generosity of the material with its countless possibilities. Nevertheless, as a contemporary artist and sculptor, I am happy to discover numerous new and classic materials for sculptures and installations. I have accomplished experience using various mediums as: fiber-glass, rubber, cement, plaster, marble, granite, glass, bronze and styrofoam.
Having the expertise of the usage of each medium gives me the advantage to visualize the idea to create the design for any specific artwork.
My current sculpture is intended to evoke vulnerability and strength, inspired by the observation of the human figure.
I sense a primitive likeness to mortal souls as my sculptures develop. Unexpected emotions appear through the tactile process of creating beyond the feelings I intended.
Every touch has an effect as the sculpture acquires a life of its own.
Painting
My expertise as a painter are portraits using oil painting as a medium. The fluid of the material benefits me.
My sensitivity links to the idea or the subject of the artwork, to project it on the canvas.
My main focus on painting portraits is the eyes I emphasize them by using artistic techniques. I seek the positive spirituality in the deepness of a glance, by approaching the facial characteristic of each being. As a result, I obtain the unique identity of every individual on the portrait.
All human beings have an internal fight; between optimism and pessimism. To allow our internal beauty to flourish, we need to look inside for our internal virtues so as to be able to project them to the exterior.
